Pumpkin Patch 2015

We took the kids to McDonald Ranch for their annual Pumpkin Patch. We have never been to this location before and we were pretty pleased with the place. Right when you walk in there are tons of horses to ride. Of course, this made the kids super excited. They were both naturals as they rode the trail. Presley even said to me, "Mom. Can we come back here on my 5th birthday and ride the horses for free?" I told her it was a mighty fine idea and we would look into it more in a few months.

After the horses, we rode a train around the ranch to a pumpkin patch. That is where we were able to pick out our pumpkins. Jackson kept changing his mind over and over so we finally had to force him to make a decision before the train left. Haha. McCartney picked out her first pumpkin ever and it was the perfect size for her. She kept eyeing the bigger ones but I think she ultimately made the right choice. ;)

Next we fed the goats at the petting farm. Presley got sooooo unbelievably scared that she jumped right into her daddy's arms and there she stayed. Jackson loved the goats and vice-versa. They kept following him around. Finally he said, "No more food. What do you want from me?"

The kids ended the day by playing a ring toss and then panning for gold. The jolly man running the gold mine told us we could turn our gold in at the Trading Post for some candy. The kids opted out because they thought the gold was much cooler than some sweets. I have to agree.

Then we headed home and took so long, much-needed naps.

Tonight we will be painting our pumpkins. Can't wait!
